DEWEESE, THOMAS L. - Died on the 9th at the residence of his mother, Thomas L. Deweese, age 24. The deceased was a member of the senior class in Miami University and if he had retained his wonted health, he would have graduated in the next commencement with the highest honors of his class. He fitted for college at the Troy High School and was distinguished for his good scholarship, his kindness and his quiet unobtrusive demeanor. Although the insidious disease the consumption nipped his prospects of honor and usefulness in the bud, he was patient and resigned and died without a struggle.

"Even for the dead I will not bind

My soul to grief, Death cannot long divide;

For it is not, as if the rose, that climbed

My garden wall, had bloomed the other side!"
