BROWN, JAMES - On Friday last at Piqua after a short illness James Brown, Esq., of Dayton.  Mr. Brown had a large contract on the canal, and was formerly Sheriff of Montgomery county.  His remains were conveyed to Dayton and consigned to the grave by his masonic brethren, and the Dayton Grays of which he was a member, amidst a very large concourse of citizens.
