TELFORD, HOWE - Died, near Troy, on the 16th inst., Mr. Howe Telford, aged 21 years, 2 months and 25 days.  He had been the subject of a severe disease for a year previous to his death, and had suffered much.  As disease began to waste his body he began to think of the "one thing needful," and, for sometime, the future to him was dark and fearful, for he could only behold "God out of Christ," which "is a consuming fire."  But for a few months before his death, he was enabled to see God in Christ, which to him was a source of great joy, peace, and a strong hope of eternal bliss.  He resigned himself to Christ, and had strong faith that his Redeemer would take him to himself.  Although his friends have great reason to rejoice that his spirit is at rest, yet they deeply feel the loss that they have sustained.  For he was a youth of a promising mind, and many things were hoped for him, and anticipated for him.  But God in kindness saw best to take him from his numerous friends on earth, and place him among his friends in Glory.  May we all be prepared to meet death, when God calls us.                               A. T.
