Troy Times

BUMGARDNER, GEORGE - George Bumgardner, aged about 29, and recently from the state of Pennsylvania, was drowned on Sunday, the 6th inst., while bathing in Miller and Westlake's millpond, about three miles from Troy.  His body remained in the water some two hours, and was only recovered after drawing off as much water as possible from the pond, and constructing a raft, when it was hooked up from a deep hole containing 7 ft. water.  His father had arrived from Pa. but a few days before this melancholly accident occurred.
