KEYT, STEPHEN - Stephen
Keyt, aged 78, died at his home on the Lockington pike about three miles north
of Piqua Wednesday of last week after a short illness. He was born in
Piqua and most of his life was spent in Miami county. He was a carpenter
and became a contractor and always led an active life working up until his
last illness. In 1857 he married Cynthia Denman. Five of six children born
to this union survive. They are A. Keyt of Rockyford, Ill., James V. Keyt
of Chatham, Ontario, H F. Keyt of Oshkosh, Wis., Mrs. Elizabeth Lyon, also of
Oshkosh, and Mrs. Caroline Bell of Battle Creek, Michigan. The funeral was
held from the home Saturday afternoon, Rev. Fairchild of the Seventh Day
Adventist church of Dayton, officiating. Mr. Keyt was a substantial worthy
citizen, who did his full duty to his family and fellowmen.
