DUNCAN, SARAH - Sarah Duncan died at her home in Troy, May 1, 1912.  She was born in Union township Aug. 1, 1843, and was one of a family of 12 children she being the last to die.  All her life was spent in this county and for several years she had resided in Troy.  She was widely known as "Aunt Sarah" Duncan and was highly regarded.  She was especially loved for her kindness to the sick and needy whom she was ever ready to help.  She had been ill and not able to get around much for the last year and recently suffered an apoplectic stroke from which she never rallied.  She leaves to mourn her loss, one son, Eli Duncan and a host of friends.  She was born a Quaker and always inclined to that faith.
