BEEDLE, MRS. SARAH A. - DAYTON, O., - Charles R. Beason, 39 East Hillcrest avenue, driver of the automobile which Thursday night struck and fatally injured Mrs. Sarah A. Beedle, 71 years old, 34 East Mumma avenue, formerly of Troy, and injured her husband, Horace W. Beedle, 73 was arrested for manslaughter yesterday afternoon on an affidavit signed by Officer Clarence Colville.  Beason was released on $2,000 bond shortly after his arrest and will be arraigned in police court today.

                                                     Body is Dragged

The affidavit was signed by Officer Colville after police said they learned that he was driving his automobile at a high rate of speed at the time of the accident and that Mrs. Beedle's body was carried more than 100 feet.  The accident occurred at North Main street and Neal avenue.  Mrs. Beedle and her husband were crossing from the west to the east side of North Main street when struck by Beason's automobile.  Mrs. Beedle died en route to Miami Valley hospital from a fractured skull and two broken legs.  Her husband suffered a fractured right leg and cuts on the nose and forehead and hand.  His condition was reported as improving at Miami Valley hospital.

                                                      Tells His Wife

Beason told police that after his automobile struck the two people he assisted in placing them into a police ambulance, then became excited and fled from the scene, leaving his automobile.  After walking home and telling his wife, Beason boarded a street car and gave himself up at police headquarters.  He told police he was driving about 20 miles an hour and that he did not see the couple when approaching the intersection.  Funeral services for Mrs. Beedle will be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning at the residence and at 10:30 o'clock from the Irvin funeral chapel, Troy, O.  Burial will be made in Riverside cemetery, Troy.  Besides her husband, Mrs. Beedle is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lois Kempfer of Dayton.

BEEDLE, SARAH MRS. - Short services for Mrs. Sarah A. Beedle of 34 E. Mumma Av., who died Saturday, were conducted Monday at 9 a. m. from the residence and at 10:30 at the Joe Irvin funeral home in Troy .  Burial was in Riverview cemetery.

                                                                   Former Trojan Improving in Dayton Hospital

Troy friends who have been calling on H. W. Beedle, former Trojan who suffered serious injuries on January 12, when he was struck by an automobile while crossing a street in Dayton, his home city, report that his condition is considerably improved and hope is now entertained for his recovery.  He was informed last week of the death of Mrs. Beedle, his wife, who was accompanying him across the street at the time of the accident and died while enroute being taken to the Miami Valley hospital as the result of her injuries.  Mr. Beedle has been removed from Miami Valley to St. Elizabeth hospital, Dayton, where he is pleased to receive visits from his friends.
