Ruth E. McMaken  

Mrs. Ruth E. McMaken, 80, of Lockington-Kirkwood Road, Rt. 2, Sidney, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday in her home. Mrs. McMaken was born in Miami County, June 23, 1893, a daughter of Hudson and Artie Killian Denman.  She was preceded in death in April of 1967 by her husband John F. (Fred) McMaken. Mrs. McMaken lived on Farrington Road from 1946 to 1971.  In 1971 she moved to her residence on Lockington-Kirkwood Road, next to her daughter.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Miami Grange.   Mrs. McMaken is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Clyde Frantom (Betty), Rt. 2, Sidney; five sons, John McMaken, Ludlow Falls; Forrest McMaken, Piqua; Richard McMaken, Troy; Charles Walther McMaken, Troy; Wilbur McMaken, Greenville; one brother Raymen McMaken, Troy; 17 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.  One brother, Wilbur, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in St. John’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. A. R. Baldwin.  Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery, Lockington. Friends may call at the Cron Funeral Home Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m.  Miami Grange services will be Thursday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
