ANEWALT, ROXIE MAE (STAUB) - Pleasant Hill--Roxie Mae (Staub) Anewalt, only daughter and child of Charles and Sarah Staub, was born May 13, 1890, near Pleasant Hill.  She was united in marriage to Clarence M. Anewalt June 21, 1911.  Her short by happy married life was spent in her country home just west of town.  She was well known in and around Pleasant Hill.  She was always a bright and happy girl, with a smile and kind word for all.  Always hopeful looking on the bright side.  In her home life she was always ready to obey and please her parents.  She became a member of the Brethren church, under the pastorate of Rev. J. F. Watson in January 1904, and has been a faithful and consistent member to the last.  She served the church and Sunday school in the capacity of organist for nine years, and was always found at her post of duty.  Many times in the evenings her parents thought she had gone to her night's rest, but found her devoting her time to the reading of her Bible, one which had been presented to her by her grandmother when she was but a small girl.  In her death the husband loses a lovable companion, the father and mother an obedient daughter, the church and Sunday school a faithful member.  She departed this life Sunday, Oct. 15, 1911.  She leaves to mourn her departure a kind and devoted husband, father and mother and host of relatives and friends.
