Raymond S. Swob  

COVINGTON -- Raymond S. Swob, 89, of Covington, formerly of Piqua, died Friday, June 5, 1998, at 12:45 a.m. in the Covington Care Center. He was born in Shelby County on July 12, 1908, the son of the late John and Gertrude Clawson Swob. He married Rose Cron on Sept. 24, 1927, in Conover.  She survives. Other survivors include one son, Richard Swob of Troy; two daughters, Mrs. Paul Kasler (Dorothy) of Piqua and Mrs. Robert Brigham (Barbara) of New Springfield; six sisters Goldie Lindley of Dayton, Arleta Davis of Covington, Mrs. Thomas Kessler (Doris) of Troy, Helen Forrest, Mrs. Charles Cool (Elsie), and Imogene Shawler, all of Piqua; nine grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Mr. Swob was a member of the Congregational Christian United Church of Christ. He was a member of the Warren Masonic Lodge No. 54 and a lifetime member of the Piqua Fish and Game. He retired from the City of Piqua as superintendent of the Piqua Waterworks Plant in 1964. Private services will be Monday in the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Brigham officiating.  Burial will follow in the Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, P.O. Box 502, Troy, Ohio 45373.
