August 15, 1912

KREIDER, ORA - Cherry Grove--Ora Kreider was born January 4, 1890, on his father's farm near No. 8 school house in Franklin township.  He died Aug. 6, 1912.  He was the fourth child of Ira and Mary E. Kreider and the first of their eleven children to leave for the Great Beyond.  He spent nearly all his life on his father's farm until on the thirteenth day of last December when he was united in marriage by his uncle, Rev. Lawrence Kreider, to Miss Lova Helman of West Grove.  They started housekeeping on April fourth and he took sick on the 12th of the same month.  His life was slowly ebbing away ever since in spite of his continued and persistent efforts to overcome his dreadful affliction.  He bore his sufferings patiently and remained cheerful up to the last.  He is survived by a wife, infant daughter, father, mother, four brothers, six sisters, a number of relatives and a host of friends and neighbors.  He was a loving companion and never uttered an unkind word.  He was a fond father, an obedient son, affectionate brother and a cheerful friend to all of whom he met.  His cheerful, kind and gentle words are gone but not forgotten.  Services were held at the Painter Creek church by Rev. Enos Pemberton and Rev. Jesse Stutsman.  Interment at the Newcomer cemetery.

Card of Thanks - The family wish to express their heart-felt thanks to their neighbors and friends for their kindness during the sickness of Ora Kreider and his wife's sad bereavement.
