PEARSON, MRS. REGINIA STECKLEY - Fidelity--Mrs. Reginia Steckley Pearson was born May 31st, 1841, in the village of Denaling Province of Wurtenburg, Germany.  She was the oldest of three children, her mother dying when she was very young.  When she was about six years old her father, immigrated to America, having a six weeks' voyage in a sailing vessel.  A baby brother died on the way and was buried at sea.  The family first came to Dayton and after a few months moved to near Brookville.  There the father died leaving her at the age of seven years and her sister aged five under the care of a stepmother who cared for them until she remarried, when at the age of twelve the deceased went to live with her guardian, John Spitler near Brookville, her sister going to the home of Louis Pfoutz at Trotwood.  At the age of nineteen she left the home of her guardian and was in the home of David Stoner near Union until her marriage to Robert Pearson, in 1863.  The first four years of the married life were spent in Greene, Clark and Miami counties.  In 1867 they came to the present home, one mile north of Fidelity, where the husband and father died Oct. 23rd, 1904.  Mrs. Pearson died last Friday at the home of her youngest daughter at Dayton, where she was visiting, after an illness of two days of apoplexy, at the age of 79 years and 29 days, leaving four daughters, two sons, eleven grandchildren and a sister.  Her parents being Lutherans, she was baptized and confirmed in that faith.  In 1880 she became a member of the Christian church at Fidelity.  Funeral services were held at the Nashville Christian church last Sunday, conducted by Rev. Hook and Rev. Furnas.  Interment in the family lot at Nashville.
