SPENCER, MRS. MARY E. - Mrs. Mary E. Spencer after having suffered for several years from paralysis passed away at her home in Piqua last Thursday night.  She was a woman of very high and noble character, a true and sincere Christian and her example will live to influence others for a long time.  She was the oldest daughter of John and Henrietta Mitchell and was born in Fletcher, Oct. 20, 1856.  Oct. 6, 1881, she was united in marriage with Moses G. Spencer who preceded her in death several years.  To this union were born two sons, John M. and Lester, who survive her.  She was an active and loyal member of the First Presbyterian church of Piqua.  The funeral services were held from the Piqua Presbyterian church at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon and were conducted by the Rev. John Montgomery.  The attendance was very large and included a large number from Troy her former home and the present home of her son John, her mother and her sister, Mrs. J. A. Davy.  Interment was made in Forest Hill cemetery.
