THOMPSON, MRS. KATHARINE - Covington--After a lingering illness of about three years Mrs. Katharine Thompson, better known as "Aunt Katy," passed peacefully away Monday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Isaac Hoover, of East Walnut street, where she resided.  This venerable woman was well known in this community, especially near Greenville Creek, west of town, where she resided on a farm for many years.  During her illness she was patient and always glad to see her many friends who thought it a pleasure to visit her, and during this illness all loving care was given to her.  At the advance age of 84 years, the Death Angel took this mother from earthly care, her husband, John Thompson, having preceded her almost four years ago.  Of the large family of children three sons and two daughters survive.  The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Christian church in this city.
