SCOBEY, MRS. ELLENDER SNOOK - Mrs. Ellender Snook Scobey, an aunt of F. E. Scobey, former sheriff, and a former resident of Miami county, died Friday, August 5, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Stabler, near Rosewood, Champaign county.  She was born in Indiana August 28, 1828, and came to Alcony, this county, at the age of 6 years with her grandmother, her father having died.  She lived in Alcony a number of years and in 1847 was married to Samuel Bright, who died, after there had been born to them two children, Harriet and Sylvester.  The latter now lives in Quincy.  After the death of Mr. Bright his widow married Thomas Scobey of Elizabeth township, and they removed to Shelby county.  Seven children were born to this union, five of whom have died.  The funeral services were held from the home, Sunday, August 7, at 2 p.m. and were conducted by Rev. Buzzard of Quincy.  Interment was made at Pasco.
