BALDWIN, MRS. BERTHA FRENCH - West Charleston--Mrs. Bertha French Baldwin committed suicide here at 4 a.m. Friday, April 21, by taking a large spoonful of arsenic.  She was born Dec. 4, 1877 at this place and was a daughter of David and Sarah French.  She was married April 12, 1905, to William Baldwin who survives her.  She also leaves two sisters and three half-sisters.  She was of a quiet disposition and was always found at home.  Her mother died when she was very young leaving her without that care and consolation which only a mother can give.  The care of her aged father fell to Bertha and she remained with and cared for him until his death after which she removed to Tippecanoe City.  She was a member of the Methodist church.  The funeral services were held from the Brethren church Sunday, April 23.  Interment was made at Maple Hill cemetery at Tippecanoe City.
