DIED

CRON - At his residence on Greene Street, on Tuesday evening, July 10, 1883.  Mr. John Cron, aged 81 years, 4 months and 20 days. The deceased was a native of Ohio, having been born in Franklin county, Feb. 11, 1802.  He came to the vicinity of Piqua when but a youth, residing first in the adjacent part of Shelby county, then at what is known as the Rockland Mills, south of town.  His next removal was to a farm two and a half miles east of Piqua, where he resided for more than fifty years, and from which he removed into the city some two years ago.  He was not a member of the church though in his young and more healthful years, he was a regular attendant upon its services.  He professed an abiding faith in Christ, was much interested in the services of religion, and looked calmly forward to the time of his departure.  He leaves a widow - the fourth companion of his life -- one brother, Mr. Nicholas Cron, one sister, Mrs. Margaret Graham, one son, Mr. W. L. Cron, and one daughter, Mrs. J. B. Brading, all of whom, with their families are residents of Piqua, or its immediate vicinity.        R.E.S.
