SPENCER, ROBERT "RED" - Robert "Red" Spencer, 85, of New Carlisle, Ohio, died Thursday, June 6, 1996 at 7:30 A.M. in his residence. He was born May 12, 1911 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Francis & Elva (Fox) Spencer. Mr. Spencer was a resident of New Carlisle since 1937, retired 1972 from Wright Patterson Air Force Base as an aircraft sheet metal craftsman, was a member of Lake Avenue Christian Church, in addition he was a longtime local watch repairman. He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers Burl, James, John & Francis. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Hilda; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert & Ruth Spencer, Mark & Cathy Spencer; daughter and son-in-law, Sanda White and Arthur Battaglia, all of New Carlisle; seven grandchildren, Scott & Todd Spencer, Gerald & Thomas White, Mark, Michael & Maria Spencer; great-granddaughter, Chelsea Spencer; brother, William Spencer of Lewisburg, Ohio; sister, Ann Weatherford of San Antonio, Texas; numerous other relatives and friends. Services will be held Monday, June 10, 1996 at 1:00 P.M. in the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN & CHRISTMAS FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle with Pastor Ray Jones officiating. Burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Sunday, 5-8 P.M. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made of Dayton HOSPICE.
