Miami Union

November 23, 1911

TAGGART, MISS CLARA - Smith's Corner--Miss Clara Winona Taggart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Taggart, was born Oct. 21, 1881, and died Nov. 19, 1911.  She was a member of the New Carlisle Methodist church, but was a _________true Christian.  It will be remembered that Miss Ona was given a postcard shower by the Miami Union readers and friends, in July, 1910, on account of her being an invalid, she receiving over 250 cards, at that time.  She has been afflicted with rheumatism for over ten years, had been bedfast for eight years.  But through it all, she was the most patient sufferer that anyone every knew.  She was so cheerful and pleasant, so kind and nice to everyone, and no one will ever know how she appreciated those cards, and the messages of sympathy written upon them.  The funeral was held from the home, Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. W. Patton at the New Carlisle M. E. church, assisted by Rev. Andrew Good, of the Mennonite church of New Carlisle.
