Elizabeth (Mollinger) Burnett
Mrs. Elizabeth Burnett, widow of the late Seth Burnett, died at her home two
miles northwest of Lockington, on Saturday evening, Dec. 26, 1891, aged 63
years.
She was the daughter of David And Susan Mollinger, and was born in Shelby county
on the same farm where she died.
She had been a widow since 1877. She was the mother of five children, two of
whom, Mrs. Ida Weymor and Willis Burnett, remain to mourn her loss.
The deceased took the grip about 10 days ago, and gradually sunk under the
attack till death claimed her as his own. She had been a faithful member of the
Methodist Church at Lockington since her girlhood, had lived at peace with God
and man, and had nothing to do at the last, but to gather up her feet and depart
in peace. Her last message to her daughter, who was also quite sick, was: "I am
ready to go." So she closed her eyes on earth to open them in the sun-bright
clime where death is not known.
