BOOKWALTER, MARTHA C. -
Bloomer--Martha C. Bookwalter, wife of Newton C. Bookwalter, died at her home
east of
Versailles
, March 26, of congestion of the lungs. She was ill but a few hours and
had seemed the very picture of health and consequently her death was a great
shock to the community. She was born in
Versailles
, Nov. 13, 18_____ and was the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Samuel Woods. She
was married in 1889 and is survived by her husband, four sons and one daughter.
She was an affectionate wife and loving mother and will be greatly missed by her
family and a large circle of neighbors and friends. She had been a member
of the
Harris
Creek
church since 1891 and president of the Ladies' Aid society. She was a
valuable teacher in the Sunday school and a deaconess in the church. The
funeral services were held from the
Harris
Creek
church Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and were conducted by the Revs. Wine and Stover.
Interment at
Harris
Creek
cemetery.
