NEWTON, LORENE M. - Services for Lorene M. Newton, 88, of Tipp City, were conducted March 12 at 10:30 a.m. in the Frings & Bayliff Funeral Home.

Burial was in Bethel Cemetery, Phoneton.  Mrs. Newton, a homemaker, died March 9 at 8:30 a.m. at SpringMeade Nursing Center, Tipp City.  She was a member of the Brandt United Methodist Church, Tippecanoe Senior Citizens, Eagles Lodge Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary, all of Tipp City.  She is survived by a son, James T. Newton of Ravenna; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Bercot (Ann) of Big Creek, Ky.; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. (Sarge) Newton, Dec. 12, 1988; her parents, George T. and Sarah R. (Morris) Davis; three brothers, Charles, Joe and Robert Davis; and four sisters, Hazel, Elizabeth, Irene and Martha.  Memorial contributions may be made to Tippecanoe Senior Citizens, in care of the funeral home.
