AGENBROAD, LEWIS W. - Lewis W.
Agenbroad, almost a life long citizen of Miami county, died at his home in New
Carlisle at noon Wednesday of last week, death being due to a combination of
heart and liver trouble. He had been seriously ill for about three weeks
and his recovery had not be expected. He was born near West Charleston
February 16, 1842. In his younger days he taught school but later took up
farming which he followed successfully the greater part of his life. March
5, 1871, he married Hannah Puterbaugh. To them were born two sons, Albert,
who lives in California, and Guy, who was present when his father died.
Mr. Agenbroad was widely known in both Miami and Clark county and was esteemed
for his integrity, industry, frugality and temperance and not only in building
an honorable character but also in the accumulation of a comfortable competency
was he successful. The funeral was held from the home Friday afternoon.
