BALHEIM, L. R. - L. R.
Balheim, superintendent of the streets of Troy, died Saturday evening after
fighting for several years against the encroachments of tuberculosis. He
was born in Troy about 47 years ago and had always resided here. For a
number of years he conducted a laundry and about six years ago was appointed
street commissioner. He was always active in politics and served as
Republican committeeman. In 1892 he was united in marriage with Miss
Minnie McNeal. One daughter, Bernice, and his wife survive. The
funeral services were held from the late residence at 2 o'clock Tuesday
afternoon with Dr. Clokey in charge. The Knights of Pythias and Elka gave
their ritualistic services. Burial at Riverside.
