SIMES, L. G. - L. G. Simes, formerly infirmary director of Shelby county, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. A. Dunn, in Green township, that county, Nov. 12 at 11:30 p.m.  He was born in Clark county, Oct. 15, 1825.  On March 18, 1859 he was married to Miss Mary Brelsford of Miami county.  He then moved to Green township, Shelby county, where he has since resided.  Mr. Simes held many public offices having been infirmary director six years, township clerk seven years, justice of the peace thirty-three years and land appraiser in 1880.  He taught school for seventeen years.  Mr. Simes had resided with his daughter since the death of Mrs. Simes in August 1907.  The children surviving are Mrs. Flora Guy and Mrs. W. T. S. O'Hara of Toledo, Mrs. E. A. Dunn of Green township and S. O Simes of St. Marys.
