Miami Union

ESTEY, JOTHAM - Jotham Estey, a Miami county pioneer, died at his home northeast of Troy last Sunday.  He had been ill for some time, but last Friday became much worse.  He was 76 years of age and had lived in Miami county all his life except for a short time in the west during the early days of gold in California.  Three sons survive him, Bert, who with his family made a home for his father, Oran of near Troy, and Grant of Longdon, Kansas.  A daughter, Mrs. Lova Williams, lives in Addison.  There are 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Mr. Estey was a member of the Union Baptist church.  The funeral was held from the residence Thursday morning at 10 o'clock.
