NICHOLSON, JOHN - Polo--John Nicholson, aged nearly 90 years, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 19th, at his old home with his son, W. P. Nicholson, after an illness of six weeks.  Death was due to old age.  He was born Dec. 11, 1820, in Newberry township, Miami county, and was the son of Samuel Nicholson.  April 1, 1851, he was married to Henrietta Buchanan.  He is survived by two brothers, one sister, one son, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  He was a life-long resident of this place except for two years, one of which he spent in Michigan and the other in Shelby county.  He leaves a host of friends to mourn his loss.  He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ.  The funeral services were held at his late home one mile east of Polo Saturday morning and were conducted by Rev. Kemm of Piqua.  Interment at Union cemetery.
