KERR, JOHN C. - Kessler--John C. Kerr died suddenly in his chair at his home here last Saturday evening, death being due to apoplexy.  He was born Oct. 18, 1836, in Monroe township and was a son of James and Sarah Kerr.  He was married June 17, 1858, to Sarah A. Stewart, who together with two sons and two daughters survive him.  There are also a sister, several grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Mr. Kerr was a member of the Christian church.  He was a kind husband and father and was always ready to lend a helping hand to his neighbors in time of sickness or need.  A host of friends mourn his loss.  The funeral was held in the Troy Christian church Wednesday, March 8, and was conducted by Rev. O. P. Furnas.  Interment at Riverside.
