BRANER, JOHN - John Braner, well known farmer living south of Piqua on the Peterson road, died Sunday morning shortly before ten o'clock.  Two months ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis.  His death had been feared for many days and from a second stroke Sunday morning he relapsed into unconsciousness, and death followed.  He was born in Wayne township, Montgomery county, July the 9th, 1845, and he was 66 years, 6 months and 6 days old.  Mr. Braner resided with his parents in Montgomery county until he reached the age of 33, and since that time had resided on the Peterson farm south of Piqua.  He was well known in this section.  He was a member of the Union Baptist church and for 18 years a deacon.  He was also an Odd Fellow.  Besides his widow, he leaves one brother, four sisters, two sons and one grandson.  The funeral was held at the Union Baptist church on the Peterson road, Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock.  Burial will be in Riverside cemetery at Troy.
