KNOOP, HENRY C. - After a lingering illness Henry C. Knoop, one of the prominent citizens of Lostcreek township, died at his residence in Casstown at an early hour Wednesday morning.  He was in his 68th year.  Mr. Knoop was the oldest son of the late Daniel H. Knoop.  During the Civil war he served out two enlistments, first in the 147th O. V. I. and later in the 194th regiment.  After the war he took up farming, but moved to Casstown some years ago.  He held the office of township trustee many years and and was prominent G. A. R. and church affairs.  He married Miss Amelia Odaffer who preceded him to the other world some years ago.  This union was blessed by two children, Charles and Mary.  The former is dead and Miss Mary survives her father.  Mr. Knoop is also survived by his brother Albert, now the last of the five well known Knoop brothers, George, Josiah and William dying years ago.  Mr. Knoop was a member of the Lutheran church in Casstown and also of Coleman Post G. A. R.  He was an active farmer and a well known citizen.  The funeral services were held in the Casstown Lutheran church and many friends and Grand Army comrades assembled to pay the last tribute of respect to the deceased.
