SHOCK, HARVEY - age 60, of 8130 S. Flick Rd., died
July 4 at Dettmer Hospital from injuries in an accident June 16 on Ross Rd.,
when the van he was driving hit a cement corner post pinning him inside the
vehicle. Harvey Shock is survived by his wife, Dorothy, two children,
Richard of Troy and Mrs. Rebecca Roegner of Indiana; a brother, Roy of Tipp
City; a sister, Mrs. Mamie Gessaman of New Carlisle; and two grandsons. He
attended the West Charleston Church of the Brethren and was a longtime member of
the volunteer firemen in Bethel Township having held a number of offices with
the group. He had also been employed at WPAFB for 33 years and was a
member of the 25-Year Club. He was also a veteran of WWII and a 4-H-Club
advisor. Services were held Friday at Trostel Chapman Funeral home, New
Carlisle with burial in Maple Hill cemetery. The family suggests
contributions be made to the Bethel Township (Miami County) emergency fund.
