TOMS, HARRY - In Troy, on the 18th inst., of congestion, Harry, infant son of Oliver and Sarah Toms, aged seven months.

The angel of death, like a thief in the night,
Hath entered, and taken our jewel so bright,
And left nought behind but the casket of clay
That soon from our sight, must be hidden away.

Must be hidden away in the grave, dark, and cold
And never again to our hearts will enfold
That beautiful form of inanimate clay
That must moulder alas!  to dust, and decay.

But our darling is safe in the bosom of God,
Having gently been led, through death's dark, cold flood

Then borne on the wings of an angel of light,
To a home in the skies so glorious and bright.

Then let us not grieve for our beautiful one
Although his sweet life's race, so quickly was run,
God loves our dear baby, He'll shield him from harm
As he safely reposeth, on His loving arm.

And when life is ended with us, we shall see,
Our angel in glory, so happy and free.
He'll be watching for us, as we near the bright shore
And we'll clasp to our bosom, our darling once more.
