STRAYER, GEORGE - Pleasant Hill--Sad has been the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Strayer, of this place on account of the death of their son, George, sixteen years of age.  The young man was a member of the sophomore class of the high school and came home from school Thursday evening very ill.  His condition became serious.  Monday afternoon he passed away, his death caused by diabetes, which developed into spinal meningitis.  The decedent was respected for his sterling character, and his death was a shock to his companions and all who knew him.  The father and mother and one sister, Miss Elizabeth Strayer, who is a student at Oxford, are the surviving members of the bereaved family.  The funeral obsequies were held Wednesday afternoon at the Church of the Brethren, conducted by Rev. A. M. Kerr, past of the Christian church.  The body was then followed to the Pleasant Hill cemetery, where it was tenderly laid to rest.
