DEFREES, GEORGE C. - In Toledo, Friday evening, July 28, after an illness of several weeks, George C. Defrees, of Piqua, in the 50th year of his age.  The deceased was born in Piqua, and has resided there during the greater portion of his life.  He was an active and energetic business man, and a man of unblemished moral and Christian character.  Having been in rather poor health for some months, he was advised to take a trip to Minnesota and the Upper Lakes.  He started, in company with a portion of his family, but the first day's travel--from Piqua to Toledo--so prostrated him that he got no farther, and never so far recovered as to be able to return to his home.  He grew worse from day to day, for nearly four weeks, when he died, as above stated.  In his death the community has lost a good man--one who filled well his place in all the relations of life.
