STOUFFER, ENOCH P. - Potsdam--E. P. Stouffer, a leading Potsdam contractor, died Thursday May 4, at 3 p.m. from injuries received by falling from a scaffold two weeks ago.  Enoch P. Stouffer, son of Josiah and Lucinda Stouffer, was born at Trotwood, Ohio, September 5, 1867.  On November 6, 1890, he was united in marriage to Clara E. Jones, of Laura.  At the age of 14 years he confessed Christ and united with the Christian church of Trotwood.  After marriage he settled in Potsdam, and in 1892 he with his wife united with the United Brethren church remaining a faithful member until the time of his death.  During the time he served the church in various places of responsibility.  He was trustee of the church and president of the Brotherhood class.  When at all possible he never failed to be present at all the services of the church.   He also belonged to the Free Masons, Odd Fellows, Jr. O. U. A. M., and Eastern Star, three of which orders were present in a body at the funeral.  His near relatives who survive are his wife, one brother and one sister, and those of his friends are many.  His presence from the community will be greatly missed.  The funeral was held from the Potsdam U. B. church Saturday afternoon and was conducted by Revs. Powell and Bone and his body was interred in the cemetery at Laura.
