BENNING,
EMERSON EZRA - Emerson Ezra Benning, 78, 1211 Maple
Street, Troy, died Wednesday in the Highland View nursing home at Troy. He
was one of twelve sons and daughters of the late John and Sarah Oldfather
Benning. Among survivors are his daughter, Mrs. Richard (Norma) Denney of
West Walnut street, Tipp City. Other survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ada
Mae Ward Benning of Dayton; two more daughters, Mrs. Walter (Dorotha) Arnett of
Greenville and Mrs. Filbert (Thelma) Petersen of Salem, Wisconsin; a son,
Richard Benning of Troy; two brothers and two sisters; 19 grandchildren and 18
great grandchildren. One son and two additional grandchildren preceded him
in death. A veteran of World War I, Mr. Benning was employed at the Troy
Sunshade as a polisher for 22 years, retiring in 1962. Funeral services
were held on Saturday morning at the Cron funeral home at Troy with the Reverend
Lee Homoki of the Gospel Lighthouse church officiating. Burial was in
Miami Memorial Park at Covington. Pallbearers were Mr. Benning's
grandsons, Harold Arnett, Air Force Lt. Ron Benning, Sonny Peterson, Tim Denney,
Paul Denney and William Benning.
