April 6, 1933

DIXON, EDW. - Ed Dixon, 73, for a number of years school janitor, died Sunday of pneumonia, while on a visit to his daughter, Mrs Russell Grimm, of 1034 Wyoming street, Dayton.  The funeral was held from the Coppock and Lee funeral home Wednesday afternoon, with Rev. D. B. Nelson officiating.  Though a native of West Virginia, Mr. Dixon had resided here and at Evanston for many years and at one time was in the dairy business.  More than a year ago Mr. and Mrs. Dixon moved from Tippecanoe City and resided with their son Clarence Dixon, of east of Vandalia, where Mrs. Dixon died last month, her funeral having been conducted here on March 13.  Two other children survive.  They are Mrs. Charles T. Boone of near this city, and another son, A. L Dixon, who resides in Springfield.  Many school children recall the friendliness of Mr. Dixon who was well known to many pupils.
