TENNEY, DR. W. A. R. - Dr. W. A. R. Tenney of Cincinnati, brother of W. I. Tenney of Troy, at one time politically prominent in the Queen City, died Sunday evening at his home there.  He suffered an attack of apoplexy several days ago and the end was not unexpected.  Dr. Tenney was born on Dec. 5, 1850, at West Milton and was the son of Dr. Eli Tenney, who was at one time county auditor of Miami county.  After young Tenney graduated from the Troy schools he was made a deputy auditor in his father's office, the latter dying shortly after the son was appointed.  After Dr. Tenney completed his term of office he taught school in Carroll county, Ind. and removed to Enon, Ohio.  On December 23, 1875, he married Miss Ella Ross, daughter of John Wilson Ross at Troy.  Three children were born to bless the union, namely Wilson Ross Tenney, Charles E. Tenney, at present an attorney in Manilla, and Helen Tenney.  The wife and children survive him.  In 1879 Dr. Tenney went to Cincinnati, where he entered the Pulte Medical college, from which he graduated in 1889.  He entered politics, serving as health officer and became a member of the paving commission, Humane society and took a prominent part in the affairs of Cincinnati for several years.  Dr. Tenney was a member of various fraternal secret societies was a past grand of the Odd Fellows and president of the past officers' association of Hamilton county for some six years.  The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock.  The body, in accordance with his request, was cremated.
