SPAHR, DR. ALBERT N. - Dr. Albert N. Spahr, a patriach in Ohio Methodism, having been a minister of that denomination for nearly half a century, died Saturday shortly before noon at his home in Xenia after a long and severe illness.  He was well known in Troy his daughter, now dead having been the wife of M. E. Baird, formerly of Troy.  Dr. Spahr was the son of Gideon and Elizabeth Kyle Spahr, and was born Aug. 27, 1835, a few miles east of Xenia, where he grew to manhood.  He then consecrated himself to the Methodist Episcopal church and labored in many fields.  The following is a list of his appointments: In 1855, he was assigned to the New Burlington charge in Greene county; 1856, New Carlisle; 1857, Fairfield; 1858, New Burlington; 1859 to 1860, New Lexington; 1861 to 1862, Sinking Springs; 1863 to 1865, Batavia; 1866 to 1867, Amelia; 1868 to 1869, Felicity; 1870 to 1872, Wesley, Cincinnati; 1873 to 1875, Grace, Urbana; 1879, Oxford; 1880 to 1881, Eaton; 1882 to 1885; presiding elder Springfield district; 1886 to 1890, Trinity, Xenia; 1891 to 1894, Greenville; 1895 to 1897, Wilmington; 1898 to 1900, Mechanicsburg; 1901, Grace, Piqua; 1902 to 1906, presiding elder, Milford district.  Contemplating retirement, he built a comfortable little home just north of Xenia, where he intended to spend his declining years, and there death overtook him.  Dr. Spahr is survived by his widow and one son, Paul Spahr, of Denver, Col., who had been with his father since Sunday preceding the day of his death.  Eight other children, including the late Mrs. M. E. Baird preceded their father to his grave.  The following brother and sisters survive: Mrs. Cornelia Smith, Van Wert; Rev. Samuel K. Spahr of Uniontown, Pa.; Miss Sally Spahr, James Spahr of Sidmore, Mo.; Mrs. I. T. Cummins, Robert S. Spahr, Dr. D. E. Spahr, of Xenia.  The funeral services were held at Trinity Methodist church, Xenia, Tuesday at 2 p.m.
