AGENBROAD, DANIEL - Father
Daniel Agenbroad, one of the first settlers of Bethel township, has passed
quietly from this to another world. Mr. Agenbroad was born in Frederick
Co. Md., in 1801, and was brought by his parents to Ohio the same year.
They entered a large tract of land in Bethel Township and lived on same till
their death, several years since. Daniel's boyhood and youth was spent in
felling the forest and cultivating the fields, and many were the adventures he
had with the wild animals that infested the forest at that time. At a
later period he purchased 80 acres of land near West Charleston, where he lived
for several years. His death occurred at Vandalia where he had gone with
his son, Matthew Agenbroad. The funeral services took place at Bethel
church last Tuesday, and were largely attended.
