SILVER, DR. D. R. - Dr. D. R. Silver, the oldest practicing physician in Sidney and eminent in his profession, died Wednesday night at Christ's hospital in Cincinnati of enteritis after a surgical operation two days previous.  He was born in Wayne county April 1, 1844, was educated at Vermilion institute, studied medicine in Wooster and graduated at Jefferson college in Philadelphia in 1868, and in 1872 commenced the practice in Sidney, where he married Miss Jennie Fry, who survives him with two children, Dr. Arthur Silver of Cincinnati and Edith of Sidney.  He was a member of the Ohio State Medical association and for many years trustee of Miami university at Oxford.  He was a very spirited citizen for the betterment of Sidney, an elder in the Presbyterian church and one of its most active members.  He will be sadly missed in his profession, in society and in all matters of religion.  On Thursday his body was taken home for funeral services and interment in Graceland.
