BAKER, COLUMBUS -
Lookout--Columbus Baker died suddenly at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec 24, death being due
to leakage of the heart. He had complained some for several days but did
his evening chores as usual. Just before his death he was sitting in front
of the base burner fixing the fire. But for the timely arrival of his son
Nathan only his wife would have been present when he expired. He was 79
years of age. In 1855 he was married to Mary A. Wells who together with
three sons, one daughter, two sisters and a number of grandchildren and
great-grandchildren survive him. The funeral services were held at Charity
Chapel church at 11 a.m. Wednesday and were conducted by Rev. L. W. Ryan.
Interment was made a Plattsville cemetery his six grandsons acting as pall
bearers.
