PUTTERBAUGH, CLYDE - Phoneton--Clyde Putterbaugh, aged 17 years, died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at the Dayton hospital death being due to appendicitis.  He had been taken to the Miami Valley hospital where an operation was performed for appendicitis and it was apparently successful but later he did not get along so well and underwent a second operation but blood poison set in and he died soon after the second operation.  Clyde was the son of William and Caroline Swallow Putterbaugh and his father, mother, two sisters, four brothers and aged grandfather survive him.  He was quiet and unassuming but had a host of friends as was shown by the vast throng that attended the funeral services, which were held in the Brethren church at West Charleston on Tuesday, May 16 at 1 o'clock, and were conducted by the Rev. Jacob Coppock.  Interment at Tippecanoe City cemetery.
