PETERSON, ALEXANDER - We deeply regret to be called upon to announce the death of the above named gentleman, who died at his residence near Troy on Sunday last after a short illness, aged about forty years.  He was an excellent man and much esteemed by all his acquaintances, and these were numerous.  Mr. P. had been slightly indisposed for some days with diarrhea, but nothing serious was apprehended till a few hours before his death when he was taken with a chill and sinking from which it was found impossible to rally the system.  His remains were buried at Rose Hill Cemetery on Tuesday, attended by a large concourse of relatives and citizens
