BRIGHT, ADAM - Bright's Crossing--Adam Bright, formerly of this place, died Thursday after a brief illness due to heart trouble and dropsy. He was born Sept. 4, 1834, in Virginia, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Bright. He was an active and successful business man and had accumulated much property. He was always ready to help any in need and had gained many friends by his kindnesses. He is survived by is wife, three sons, one daughter, eight grandchildren, many other relatives and a host of friends. The funeral services were in the Christian church in Christiansburg at 10:30 o'clock Sunday morning and were conducted by Rev. Bagby of Fletcher. The interment which was at Casstown was in charge of the I. O. O. F. lodge of which he was a member. The funeral is said to have been the largest ever held in Christiansburg.
