Miami Union

SHEARER, ABIJAH - Abijah Shearer, 81, a life long resident of Union township, died at his home in West Milton Saturday, Jan. 7, after an illness of only two or three days.  His health had been as good as usual until his severe attack last Wednesday.  He had been a sufferer from asthma for about 30 years during all of which time he was not permitted to lie down, sleeping in a sitting posture on his chair.  He was one of a family of seven children.  He leaves his wife, a son, Warren, and two daughters, Mrs. M. O. Cress and Mrs. Ora Furnas.  The funeral was held from the West Union church, Rev. Enos Pemberton officiating.
