Rex E. Stager, 90, of Bradford, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at Versailles Health Care Center.

He was born Feb. 28, 1920, in Troy, to his parents Charles Stager and Edith (Weisenberger) Whitney.

Rex retired from EDM, Piqua, as a machinist. He was a member of the AMVETS Post 66, Covington, VFW Post 4235 and the Eagles Fraternal Order 3998. He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR and spending time with his daughters and all his grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the nursing aides and staff at the Versailles Health Care Center for all of the love and care that was given to Rex during his stay with them.

Rex was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Priscilla, in 1998, and his brother Max Stager. He is survived by his three daughters Shirley and Robert Herron of Covington, Corllis Onkst of Bradford and Christine Trydle of Bradford; eight grandchildren, Kim Herron of Bradford, Bobby Herron of Maumme, Melissa Seper of Piqua, Tracey Pullins (Tom) of Bradford, Rex Onkst of Greenville, Tami Gantt of Bradford, Sheryl Lange (Nick) of St. Henry and Audrey Arnett of Piqua; great-grandchildren, Krystal and Matt Robinson, Josh and Deryl Shirk, Ethan and Ryan Herron, Kelsey and Matt Herron, Megan and T. J. Pullins, Tyler Onkst, Trenton Onkst, Brittlei Onkst, Holly Gantt, Macy Gantt, Krista Floyd, Kylee Floyd, Olivia Lange, David Arnett, Kendra Arnett, Ryan Lange, Sara Lange, Michelle Lange and Megan Lange; great-great-grandchildren, Ian Shoffner, Peyton Robinson and Chloe Kennedy; sister, Sharon Miller (Gene); and Rex's favorite companion, Puppy.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington. Pastor Dan Scalf will officiate with interment following at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
