DETRICK, GLEN H. - Glen H. Detrick, 87, of Houston, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at the Troy Care & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on Jan. 16, 1922 in Miami County, the son of the late Roy and Naomi (Michael) Detrick. On Oct. 12, 1946 he married Donna J. Coppack, who preceded him in death on June 28, 1990. Mr. Detrick was a World War II veteran, serving in the US Army. He was wounded in action in New Guinea and in Leyte. He was awarded several medals and Bronze Stars as well as the Purple Heart and the Bronze Arrowhead. He was a carpenter by trade and a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Sidney. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Jammie Detrick of Troy, Dan and Jan Detrick of Tipp City, Tim and Ellen Detrick of Sidney, eight grandchildren, Tamera and husband Gerrit, Mickey and wife Alissa, Andrew and wife Jill, Elizabeth, Julie, Timothy Jr. and wife Megan, Brian and wife Sabrina, Kevin and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Carl Detrick and three grandchildren. Services were held June 15 at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Inman officiating. Burial will full military honors were in Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney. Memorials may be made to the church in his memory. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cromesfh.com.
