STURGELL, ARCHIE CLIFFORD - Archie Clifford Sturgell, 83, of Dayton, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009. He was born Nov. 9, 1925 in Trace, W. Va. to John and Nora (Stafford) Sturgell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leola (Marcum) Sturgell; brothers, John Jr., Rupert, Alva Lee and James Sturgell; sisters, Mabel May, Imal Dillon, Inis Dillon, Nona Belle Dillon and Sadie Sturgell. Archie is survived by his sister, Beulah Mayberry; sons, Steve and Shirley Sturgell, Roger and Cynthia Darwin Sturgell, Kevin Sturgell; daughter, Sharon Kaye and Dean Banks; grandchildren, Todd and April Sturgell, Benjamin Sturgell, Jamison and Crista Banks, Kelly (Wesley) Plant, Kyle Sturgell, Karen McKeand mother to Kelly and Kyle, Travis Darwin, Laurn and Audra Randell, Cynthia Darwin Sturgell mother to Travis, Laurn and Audra; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Grayson, Jewel, Opal, Tyler, Delanie and Shelbi; along with many nieces and nephews. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday (8/27) at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services were held Aug. 28 at the Evangel Church of God, 132 N. Smithville Road, Dayton. Interment Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City.
