BECHTOLT, JOHN CHALMER - Funeral services are to be held this afternoon (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at the Frings & Bayliff Funeral Home for John Chalmer Bechtolt, 77, 131 N. First Street, who died Sunday morning at Dettmer Hospital. The Reverend Clifford Jacobson of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the New Carlisle Cemetery. Mr. Bechtolt is a native of Bethel Township and was a member of the Bethel Grange and of the Eagles Lodge. He was a retired appraiser for the Cole-Layer Trumbill Company in Dayton. Surviving are his wife, Irene Evans Bechtolt; step-children, Lorin E. Evans of Troy, Mr. Robert (Lois) Elliott of New Carlisle, Mrs. John (Anita) Lafferty of Kettering, Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Artz of Vandalia, Dale E. Evans of Otway; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Warner and Mrs. Mary Cobaugh, both of Brandt; and nine grandchildren. The Eagles held services at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
